Water is a luxury. And responsibility.

Water is a luxury. And responsibility.

Tiers am Rosengarten is rich in water. The fact that we are able to live and work so close to the source is a gift. And a responsibility. What does the use of water mean for a 5-star hotel? A look behind the scenes at the Cyprianerhof.

It rushes down from the mountain, feeds springs deep in the rock and seeps back into the earth. A cycle that remains tangible up here – pristine, powerful, pure. As a five-star hotel with spa, pools, kitchen, own laundry and comfort on all levels, the use of water is a daily balancing act. Consumption is high. And although we draw from the full, we do not do so irresponsibly.

Water moves everything. Including us.

Water is a precious resource and we treat it that way. But how does that work in a place like ours? For us, responsibility means not sugarcoating, but questioning everything. Where can we reduce? Where can we rethink? Where can we do better – without losing the comfort our guests expect? A five-star hotel will always be energy-intensive. But it can still act consciously. It can conserve resources, close loops, and favour local solutions. And that’s exactly what we do, whenever and wherever we can.

Water is with you. Everywhere you go.

In the pool a tingling experience. In the sauna a gentle steam. In our treatments a powerful element that connects.

Mindful use. That you can feel.

At our place, water is part of the experience. That’s why we treat our pool with salt electrolysis no chlorine needed. It’s kind to your skin and lungs, eco-friendly, and uses much less fresh water thanks to minimal backwashing. The salt content is so low you won’t taste it only feel it. Natural. Gentle. Just right.

In-house laundry. Full control.

We do our laundry in-house. It cuts down on transport and packaging and gives us control. Especially over consumption.

Detergent with gentle power

Gentle on skin, light on resources. Developed with pros – so you can sink into crisp, fresh sheets at the end of the day.

Thinking in cycles. With what we have here.

We rely on energy sources that are local, circular, and reliable. Our woodchip heating system provides hot water throughout the house. Around 30% of our electricity comes from our own rooftop solar panels. The rest? Supplied by two hydroelectric plants in the Tiers Valley.

And yes – we know what our place demands.

A hotel like the Cyprianerhof needs energy – for heat, water, the kitchen, the laundry. For comfort you can feel. That comes with responsibility – and contradictions. We don’t take it lightly. That’s why we regularly review our processes. Our certifications show we’re willing to question ourselves. External assessments bring in expertise, fresh perspectives, and an honest outside view. They help us understand where we are – and where we could go. That’s how we learn. That’s how we grow. Step by step. With a clear purpose.
