Many hikes around the Rosengarten (Catinaccio) start directly at our doorstep. Within just 30 seconds to 1 minute, you reach the first official hiking trail – without needing a car or transfer.
This means you begin your hiking day immediately in nature – no driving, no waiting, and far away from crowded starting points.

Rechter Leger in the Tschamin Valley – a scenic but technically easy hike with views of the Tschamin peaks, Grasleiten peaks and Valbonkogel.
Our sunrise tip
A special experience is the hike to Bartige Alm. After an early start, you reach above the tree line in about 1.5 hours – just as the sun rises behind the Marmolada.
Tip: bring warm clothing – temperatures in the early morning can be significantly cooler.

When is the best time for hiking?
The quietest and often most beautiful periods are May to mid-June and late September to October. During these times, trails are less crowded and nature is particularly intense.
When do alpine roses bloom?
Alpine roses typically bloom from mid-June to early July, depending on snow conditions and temperatures.
Thunderstorms in the Dolomites
Thunderstorms often occur in summer afternoons. Risk is highest above the tree line, especially on summit hikes, via ferratas and ridge crossings.
Recommendation: start early and plan to finish demanding hikes before midday.
When is the Rosengarten least crowded?
It is quietest during the shoulder seasons and early in the morning or late in the afternoon. In general: the more demanding the hike, the fewer people you will encounter.

When should you start hiking in the Dolomites?
In summer, it is best to start early in the morning, as thunderstorms often occur in the afternoon.
