Steinegg Museum of Farm Life

An excursion into the history of Tyrol.
The museum is located directly beneath the church and offers an unforgettable excursion into the history of Tyrol. Life on the farm, with its roots in religion, the variety of almost forgotten trades and the painful memories of the wars are just a part of this popular collection of exhibits.

On your journey through the old rooms, chambers and work rooms you get a real feeling for the simple life and are fascinated by how our forefathers lived close to nature.
The Chapel of the Resurrection, with its precious statues and other sacred treasures, is unique.

From 1.30 p.m. there is activity on all the rooms and workshops. Various tradesman, such as a shoe-maker, a spinner and a weaver give insights into a vanished world of work. While the adults and older children are being fascinated by these almost forgotten working tools, the little ones are making musical instruments and toys with Huwe von Lanzen and his "maid" and making the sounds of spring with handmade pipes, "Moidenpfeife" or "purrers".
