Tour description
From the hotel at 1,750m above sea level we will make our way to Gemeier and then to the wooden bridge and the fork leading to Zerfaller Hof. That's where our climb begins. The trail snakes gradually yet constantly up into the steep mountain forest and to the Taltbühel mountain ridge (highest wooded peak in Europe).
Shortly after we will reach Wolfsgrube, the Wolf's Grave, which is always well-kept. It is the site where the last wolf on the Rosengarten was caught at the beginning of the 20th century. The trail continues along the wood-covered ridge at more or less the same altitude.
We will then have the chance of stopping at the Schillerhof for a bite and to recover or we can continue the one and a half hour excursion to the Niger Pass and sate our hunger at the Niger Refuge.
The trail leads from the Niger Pass into the Valley and depending on how much snow there is we can sleigh back to the hotel.
Highlights
