Tour description
Transfer to Vigo di Fassa and then by cableway up to Ciampedie.
To start with we will cross the ski slopes of the homonymous ski resort and make our way up from there over a more or less level trail through the snowy mountain woods to Gardeccia.
After a short rest we will climb through the unique and bizarre Vajolet Valley to the Vajolet Refuge. A wide trail will lead us after about a 1½-hour climb to the Vajolet and Preuss Refuge. From there we can rest to recover our energy and enjoy the marvelous view of the snow-covered winter landscape. The silence all around us is the greatest reward for our efforts.
Once we have recovered all our energy, we will continue our climb to Gardeccia and then make our way back to Ciampedie. Before returning over the valley stretch we will stop in one of the refuges to enjoy a cup of hot tea or mulled wine.
Highlights
The views of the Rosengarten's east wall, the Vajolet Peaks on the one side and the Scalieret Peaks on the other. A close encounter with primal and wild nature. With a bit of luck you can come across wild animals like chamois and bighorn.
