Tour description: From the hotel (at 1,175 metres of altitude) in the direction of Weißlahnbad, we take the path through a pine tree forest to the “Tschetterloch“, a legendary opening, which reaches approximately 20 metres into the rock cove. From there, the path becomes steeper and more strenuous between rock walls up towards the Tschafatsch Saddle (2,068 metres altitude) – 2 hours walk. We have arrived at the Schlern plateau. After passing a dwarf pine grove, we will hike to the wide saddle of the “Hammerwand“. You will be rewarded with beautiful views of the Rosengarten. After some strenuous hiking up and down, we will reach the “Mittagskofel“ (lookout point); from there to the “Nigglscharte” (2,065 metres of altitude – 1.5 hours). A short part of the Hammerwand leads across easy but rocky “climbing paths“ and terrain. From the “Nigglscharte“, it is worth hiking over to the peak of the Hammerwand (2,130 metres – 35 minutes). From there, you will have a wide view into the Eisack Valley and to the high plateau just below the Schlern mountain. After a steep descent, we will reach the Tschafon in about one hour. This is the only snack station along the way! The last part of the route brings us back to Weißlahnbad. Adventure highlights: Beautiful views accompany us along the Hammerwand ridge. The route leads through a magnificent, original-type mountain world, between the Schlern massif on one side and the Tiers Valley on the other.
